Sunday 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
The Second Annual California Solartopia Congress will convene committed eco-activists from throughout southern California to present the facts on key eco-issues and strategize on their solutions. This is an action-oriented gathering for surviving on our planet. We’ll deal with local issues like Santa Monica’s famed California Sycamore tree, the Ballona Wetlands, making Los Angeles totally green-powered, dealing with the radioactive waste at San Onofre, shutting the Diablo Canyon nuclear plant, coping with the Porter Ranch disaster and much more. We’ll also look at the larger issues of plastics pollution, climate change, going totally fossil/nuke free and more. Convened by Harvey Wasserman of KPFK’s CALIFORNIA SOLARTOPIA Show, participants will include Andrea Leon-Grossman of Food & Water, Donna Gilmore from San Onofre, Dianna Cohen on plastics, and many, many more.
Harvey Wasserman has been working for a “Solartopian” green-powered Earth since 1973, when he helped coin the phrase “No Nukes” and defeat a double nuke reactor project propose near his organic communal farm. His “California Solartopia Show” on KPFK-Pacifica provides sustainable talk for saving the planet.
