Emidio “Mimi” Soltysik is an American political activist for the Socialist Party USA. He was the party’s nominee for President of the United States in the 2016 election. From October 2013 to October 2015, Soltysik served as National Co-Chair of the Socialist Party USA. Prior to that, he served as National Vice Chair from 2011 to 2013. Soltysik also served as State Chair of the Socialist Party of California from its chartering in 2011 to 2017.
Javier Sethness is the author of Imperiled Life: Revolution Against Climate Catastrophe, Eros and Revolution: The Critical Philosophy of Herbert Marcuse, and For a Free Nature: Critical Theory, Social Ecology, and Post-Developmentalism, and editor/translator of I Am Action: Literary And Combat Articles, Thoughts, and Revolutionary Chronicles.
Kevin B. Anderson is a Professor of Sociology, Political Science, and Feminist Studies at University of California, Santa Barbara. He has worked in social and political theory, especially Marx, Hegel, Marxist humanism, the Frankfurt School, Foucault, and the Orientalism debate. Among his most recent books are Foucault and the Iranian Revolution: Gender and the Seductions of Islamism (with Janet Afary, 2005) and Marx at the Margins: On Ethnicity, Nationalism, and Non-Western Societies (2010/2016), both published by University of Chicago Press. He is active in LA in the International Marxist-Humanist Organization and in the Coalition for Peace, Revolution, and Social Justice.
